Because it's Funny

Nedra Pickler at the AP writes that the McCain camp is upset over a 'lipstick' comment Sen. Obama made at a recent campaign rally. Referring to McCain's promises that he will change Washington:
"You can put lipstick on a pig," [Obama] said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin's joke. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."

McCain's campaign team is demanding an apology. Of course, it turns out that McCain has used the lipstick metaphore himself on occasion. Criticizing Sen. Clinton's recent healthcare plan, he said it was awful similar to the one she put forth as first lady:
"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," McCain [said] of her proposal.
